Phoenix Group – Supporting Those Who Are Hard Of Hearing or Deaf

Care Vending is working with the Stevenage based Phoenix Group for Deaf Children and young adults. Hertfordshire-wide charity working with deaf and hard of hearing children, young people and their families.

As part of the support that Care Vending are giving is a donation of 4 laptops to The Phoenix Group for Deaf Children & Young Adults. The hard work in empowering young people who have a hearing impairment is hugely inspiring. Modern life can be challenging enough and it was a pleasure for Care Vending to assist in their work to help to prepare these young adults for their futures.

“Huge thanks to @CareVending who surprised our young adults group with their donation of 4 laptops to help with job skills. We are loving them!”

To show their thanks, Phoenix are providing Deaf Awareness training to Care Vending key staff, teaching deaf-friendly communication tactics and British Sign Language In addition, video clips will be created for a short-clip display on their vending machines, in order to promote deaf awareness to a wider audience via their extensive customer base.

The two organisations have been continuing to work closely together and Care Vending have organised an exciting trip to a local theme park planned for families and deaf children to take place during the early part of the summer holidays!
